Negishi Ryu Apprenticeships for Seasoned Professionals
The international headquarters of Negishi Ryu Shuriken-jutsu, based in Japan, is a non-profit koryu tradition offering online/in-person apprenticeships. This personalized training can lead to both official koryu licensing and international branch leadership status.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with the highest level of integrity. While no previous experience in shuriken throwing is required, candidates should have a background in either traditional Japanese martial arts, Japanese cultural arts and/or other relevant skills or knowledge. Instruction will be provided largely online, and in-person training will also be made available both in Japan and at regional seminars.
Successful candidates will be mentored by Dai-Shihan, David Barber, an authority on the subject of shuriken-jutsu and the appointed Head of Negishi Ryu International.
Today, Negishi Ryu is recognized as Japan's last surviving specialist school of authentic "koryu" shuriken-jutsu, and designated as an important cultural asset. A true Samurai warrior tradition. Handed down in modern times by the late Soke, Saito Satoshi, who received his education from legends such as Naruse Kanji & Fujita Seiko.
The Negishi Ryu currently has apprentice-students in numerous countries throughout North America, Europe, Asia & Pacific. We welcome men & woman who share a passion for quality, striving to uphold the virtues of traditional martial arts.
